Is KNA a uniform school?
The KNA Village students wear black shoes and black pants. Our young ladies may also wear a black skirt. Finally K-4th grade wear green polos, while 5th - 8th wear red polos.
What are current student fees for Kwame Nkrumah Academy?
The first family student is $30. Each family student thereafter is $15.
What high schools do your gradates attend?
Our curriculum prepares students for the next level. Our students are accepted and highly successful in Chicago-area high schools including Butler College Prep, Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences, Curie Metro, DeLaSalle Institute, Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep, Jones College Prep, Kenwood Academy, Morgan Park H.S. - International Baccalaureate Program, South Shore International College Prep, St. Rita, Urban Prep Academy, Young Women's Leadership Academy
Does KNA have after school programs?
The after school schedule will be from 3:45 – 5:00pm Monday – Thursday. We anticipate after school programs to begin October 2, 2017 after registration and family surveys are completed.
What special programming and after school programs does Kwame Nkrumah Academy offer?
Kwame Nkrumah Academy currently offers after schooling for African dance, African drumming, Health & Fitness, Cheerleading, Basketball, and Track.
We offer an Urban Agriculture Program as a foundation for our Science curriculum. We currently have a chicken coop on-site complete with 40 chickens as well as 4 outdoor growing beds. In the spring of 2019, we will expand with additional raised garden beds and a duck coop.
